FALLACIOUS ARGUMENT OF THE “ALMOST CHRISTIANS”

I loathe and tire easily from contextual stupidity.  I read every day that Jesus was a socialist, we have to take in foreigners, there are six different genders (well great, because that makes me better than four other ones—and I debate with my lovely wife on the fifth—although she can be crushing with her Scriptural wit and intellect), I’ve even heard from the rainbow-clad pulpits that God is non-binary, and a host of other Biblical ignorance and it offends me to how stupid people have become, as well as the stupidity spewed from the pulpit each Sunday.  It makes me sad.  What exactly do you pay your pastor or priest to teach, guide, and instruct?  This fascinates me.  Everyone in my church knows that they have every right to question me on any Biblical teaching portion and I need to back it up contextually and Scripturally or they can fire me in a heartbeat.  I DO MY CALLING.

Let’s see, if your female pastor and spiritual leader of the church gives you the “Joseph had a fancy coat and his brothers didn’t like him because he was different,” or the “God is only love and light,” or the “Jesus was a homosexual prophet” with their rainbow sash and tender commentary, I may just vomit.  False teachers all—and I have heard them and just sat and prayed for their souls.

Let’s tackle the “Jesus was a socialist” commentary.  The shallow argument is that capitalism is immoral.  Okay, let’s analyze this concept.  Jesus was clearly NOT a socialist as what He taught was voluntary compassion and spirituality over political systems—essentially government replacing the role and purpose of the church body.  Jesus focused on personal moral responsibility that had NOTHING to do with government redistribution—quite counter the new Pope’s socialist liberation theology that evolved out of South America.  Now, of course Jesus challenged the ruling elite class and the hypocrisy of the wealthy priests and Jewish leaders because he saw it for what it was—money, control, power.

Let’s analyze it through a theological-political lens.  Jesus taught voluntarism over mandate and coercion.  All charity and care that Jesus endorsed in his teachings are a personal choice and an act of faith rather than a state-controlled or mandated system (as with the Pharisee’s and Levitical law).  Jesus never once supported a political structure, other than the Kingdom of God.  He most certainly never condoned or advocated for government control of the economy or state ownership of resources—or people for that matter.  Hence, the discussion of free will within our Christianity.

Adjacent to this, Jesus focused on the heart and changing humanity from the inside out rather than a total rearrangement of social structure through politics.  The statement from the Pope and throughout illustrate of socialist liberation theology that is NOT Biblical nor is it Christlike.

In regard to illegal immigration and borders—another complex problem in that the words of Jesus were limited.  The Old Testament is what is routinely quoted by the Scriptural ignorant who don’t take the writings into context.  Leviticus and Deuteronomy both compel us to treat those foreign with love, kindness, and JUSTICE, showing hospitality.  But here is the crux of the matter.  Obedience to the law as discussed in Romans 13 emphasizes following the laws of the land and respecting established borders and especially laws.  There is even Biblical inclusion of forbidding inter-marriage with other faiths and belief systems.  For example, let’s look at the Old Testament example of Ruth who altered her heritage and exacted herself according to the laws of Boaz and his people.  As a Moabite, she altered all of her processes in life, custom, and law.

Progressive liberals and almost Christians like the Pope demand we have open borders while Vatican City is one of the most secure places on the planet.  Yet another Catholic double standard, kind of like shuffling pedophile priests around to avoid prosecution.  Remember, Jesus Himself commanded that we render unto Ceasar what is Ceaser’s and unto God what is God’s.  This contextually was in obedience to the law and taxation.  Assimilation to authority is the critical legal, theological, historical, and contextual piece here and liberal progressives want to pick and choose Scripture to support a fallacious argument.

If we want to go “old school” let’s look at Numbers 15:15-16 “For the assembly, there shall be one statute for you and for the stranger who sojourns with you, a statute forever throughout your generations. You and the sojourner shall be alike before the Lord.  One law and one rule shall be for you and for the stranger who sojourns with you.”  So, I ask you the question, in YOUR home, do your rules apply, or random rules of the guest?

#1, can the guest just break into your home unannounced and uninvited?  #2, can they trash your home, rape and kill your wife or daughter, and steal your stuff?  #3, do they get to live in your home for all time and you pay for their food, health care, transportation, heat, electricity?  If so, then YOU take them and pay for them as I refuse morally and Scripturally!
