WHY IS LEARNING & TEACHING HISTORY IMPORTANT?
Admittedly, I’m a nerd. I love learning and researching every day. Obviously, as a pastor Bible history is huge for me as there are so many lessons from history that I can rely on for discussion and decision-making in today’s world. The understanding of that history ties directly into philosophy, theology, and laws. This then transcends all denominations as I analyze the anthropology of politics, economics, war, and theology—and there is a synthesis between all of these.
I exist within the confines of learning and growing with some additional aspect of theology and spiritual development, I do my utmost to physically move my body forward (some days harder than others), I focus on other mental rigors in psychology, philosophy, and history, and finally, I ensure that I engage others with the eternal love of truth and logic.
I am a deeply loyal and devoted Christian. I am also an ardent believer in our Constitutional Republic as based in Christian ethic. Interestingly, I found a fascinating tie-in to a little of everything that interests me when I read Thomas Jefferson—now, I am not totally a fan of Jefferson but that is mainly due to his nasty power grab against John Adams using the press—not unlike what we see today. BUT—in reading the first draft of the Declaration of Independence it is clear on Jefferson’s stance on slavery. He made a passionate plea to end slavery. He wrote, “And he, the king, has waged a cruel war against human nature itself, violating its most sacred rights of life and liberty in the persons of a distant people who never offended him. Taking their life and liberty and captivating them and carrying them into slavery in another hemisphere or to incur miserable death in their transportation.” Now, get this portion, “This piratical warfare, the opprobrium (meaning “severe public criticism, condemnation, or a state of extreme dishonor and shame resulting from one's actions) of infidel powers, is the warfare of the “Christian” king.” This is Jefferson rebutting the King of England, telling him sarcastically that he can’t do this to the colonies and call himself a Christian. Jefferson specifically uses the word “piratical” because who was our second war after the Revolutionary War?—The Barbary Pirates that Jefferson himself waged during his tenure as president. Who were these pirates? The Muslims who believed if they conquered you, they could take you as slaves—especially if you were an infidel. I’m not making this up as it is all in the Quran—yeah, peaceful religion—BY CONQUEST.
Jefferson continues on in his paragraph writing, “Yet, the king of Great Britain is determined to keep an open market where CAPITALIZED men are to be bought and sold.” I wonder why I was never taught that portion of history? So, my next question is why didn’t this make the final draft? We are only told repeatedly that our country was built on slavery because all of the founding fathers wanted slavery. And we haven’t really touched on the Irish and Scottish slaves who were sent here. But, I digress, the rest of the history is that when this draft was read to the Continental Congress each and every line had to be voted on and it had to be unanimous. Out of the 13 colonies, guess how many voted against it? TWO! That means 11 of the colonies voted to get rid of all forms of slavery in America.…South Carolina and Georgia…exactly where the Civil War started. Interesting.
Now, let’s take it a step further with the words of my FAVORITE member of our Constitutional Republic, along with his brilliant wife Abigail, John Adams who wrote, “The Constitution was only written for a moral religious people. It was wholly inadequate for the people of any other.” The body politic of our nation was so deeply Christian that our form and structure of government was built for the people who believed in Jesus as our Lord and Savior. The only “Constitutional crisis” spewed in the media is anyone who truly is NOT a Christian. We no longer have a Christian nation, but we have a Christian form of government that is no longer compatible with Christianity or the values that our nation was founded. All liberty will be lost without a Christian population and the church is dying to socialist liberation theology from within.
Popes change doctrine, preachers soft-sell the Gospel, the deep state political system is corrupt, taxpayers get ripped off…essentially the church (God’s people) relinquished responsibility of truly caring for those in need and HOLDING THEM RESPONSIBLE to giving it over to a corrupted government…yes, this includes every state and federal agency. The church has allowed the media to control our moral narrative and guilt the church into acquiescence. I promise you, there IS a hell and it will be fascinating to see how many church leaders stand and explain what exactly happened on the Sunday after the return of Jesus. Bottom line pastors and priests, regardless of color, if we are not aligned with God’s Word and aligned with worldly doctrine, I REFUSE to stand with you.
For this so-called female Bishop Flunder of the United Church of Christ in Oakland calling for a “Third Testament”…I would encourage her to read and fully comprehend Revelation 22 that were the words of Jesus to John the Beloved. Again, I remind you that there are undiscerning, unknowledgeable, and heretical people teaching from their pulpits every Sunday, and most are too stupid not to see the lies. You can’t stand before God on judgment day and plead ignorance.
