The Counter-Christian GROWTH OF THE WOKE IDEOLOGY

The woke ideology always sounds so grand and noble—compassion, justice, equality, & progress.  Yet, this begs the question “progress to what?”  No one in this group seems to desire to do the thoughtful work of the process and simply wants to receive the fruits of other people’s labor.  I find that progressive ideas are like virtues as the woke just keep playing with them and they get more difficult to identify.  This turns into dialectics—a fusion of the thesis with the anti-thesis.

Marx was the father of economic dialectics and simply wanted to overthrow the throne.  Lenin honed this by having the “have not’s” requiring leadership from the “have’s.”  The Frankfort School really focused on the attack of culture—education, media, religion, the arts—essentially the “long march” through institutions.  The belief is that if you can’t radicalize via economics, do so via institutions slowly, steadily, and generationally.  This progressed to post-modernism where power plays exist everywhere—man v woman, straight v gay, fit v fat, colonizer v colonized.  Force all relationships to be power struggles with the emotional personal tribes becoming more and more political.

Woke has developed the concept of “intersectionality,” where oppression isn’t one-dimensional, rather, it’s a matrix.  Every identity adds a new layer of victimization—the more layers, the more moral authority.  With this evolution the ultimate proletariat is: fat, old, disabled, single, person of color, Muslim, transgender, gay, from the 3d world, no education, low income, and both rural and urban.  The “boss bourgeoise” is: middle-aged, married, able-bodied, straight, white, Christian, westerner in culture, highly educated, middle to high income, and urban.

Essentially, modern progressives are just neo-Marxists in drag.

ORWELL & SOWELL ON DOUBLE SPEAK

Politicians and the media twist our words to give words or phrases double meaning.  Equal opportunity = preferential treatment.  Compassion = using our tax dollars to buy votes and fund programs.  Non-judgmental = blame society for everything while absolving individuals of responsibility.  When the progressive left labels something as being “dismissive” they actually mean it is in regard to an argument they can’t refute but won’t admit.  Any situation they want to change or can’t control a “crisis,” and anyone they don’t want you to listen to as “dangerous.”  Anyone with a dissenting opinion they refer to as “misinformation.”

Orwell believed that double speak disables society from critical thought.  The progressive left goal is to defend the indefensible.  Goal of political language is to obscure reality.  The more society fails to ask questions the greater power they have thus making society complicit.

A lot of this speech reduction was from 2010-2015 when universities began to have safe spaces, labeling speech as harm, etc..  They were reframing disagreement to their radical ideas as harm and that brings speech into the realm of violence, and then that in turn means that speech is violence.  That enabled the progressive left to do character assassination, reduce social status, thus dehumanizing their opposition.  This led to cancel culture in 2016.  In 2021 and 2023, use of censorship flourished.  They now want to exile free speech and psychologically this emotionally feels like death.  Now the progressive left has moved more radically into assassination to silence someone forever.
